Announcements

Our chancel flowers are given each Sunday by members and friends of our congregation. If you would like to donate flowers in honor of someone, in memory of someone, or in celebration of an event, you may sign up on the board in the Welles Room, or call the church office.

Ladies it is time for our May Ladies Luncheon. Join us this Friday, May 21 from 12:10 to 12:40. Come and be blessed!

Food and Fellowship Pot-Luck Dinner: Friday, May 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All invited to come and exchange ideas on how church members can build and sustain a caring community for people hurt by what is happening in the Albany job market and economic downtown. Jobs are hard to find, and sometimes hard to keep. Friday night’s program will be informal. Contact organizers Felicia Kollie-Gambles or Lois Wilson if you would like an advance for the food you’ll bring to the dinner or immediate reimbursement on May 21.

Stroll the WPC Neighborhood: Listen and learn while you walk around the Center Square Neighborhood – the few blocks which immediately surround Westminster.  Harold Ruben, Past President of the Center Square Neighborhood, and Kathy Linhardt, a FOCUS breakfast organizer, will lead and narrate groups during the Second Hour, May 23, starting and ending in Assembly Hall.   Ask your questions about the concerns of residents. Hear significant history of the area.  Notice changes, deterioration, enhancements and observe entrepreneurial efforts near WPC.  Who lives next to the church?  What key things might Westminster do to be more involved and helpful in our neighborhood?  It’s all happening May 23 so wear your favorite walking shoes and plan to be part of the stroll.  Those in wheelchairs or desiring a shorter walk, will experience a shorter trip around the block with Kathy Linhardt.  Anyone eager to explore further will be guided by Harold Ruben down to the Jay Street turn around.  In the event of rain, pull up a chair in Assembly Hall to take a verbal tour.

Annual Picnic: Be part of the fun! Sunday, June 6 everyone will gather for food, fun and fellowship at the Menands Town Park beginning at noon.  For generations, Westminster Presbyterians have enjoyed this casual outing time together.  Mark your calendar now and plan to join this festive event.  Meats, beverages, ice, table service and paper products are furnished.  You may contribute to the meal by bringing a side dish, salad or dessert to share.   Children and families are encouraged to bring lawn games to share.  Lawn chairs may provide the comfort you need to fully enjoy a lovely, warm, summer day in the park with friends.  Directions to the Menands Town Park will be available soon. Let’s make more WPC memories together!

FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry: During the month of May Westminster is asked to donate toilet paper. Donations may be left in the bin located in the Chestnut Street hallway.

Please join us on facebook: Our group is Westministers.

Have you remembered the church in your will?
