Tamarac High School Choralaires Concert

Tamarac Choralaires perform "Before The Dawn" at Westminster Church on May 25 at 6pm. Free concert featuring Mozart, Whitacre, Withers and more.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Tamarac High School Choralaires will conclude their Capital District tour at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany at 6:00 pm. Under the direction of renown choral director Christopher Price. The award-winning ensemble will perform Before The Dawn, a concert featuring a carefully selected repertoire of songs pondering the use of our time and the continued opportunities of a “New Dawn”.

The Choralaires will perform works from noted composers Mozart, Eric Whitacre, James Mulholland, Bill Withers among others. Music accompaniment will be provided by pianist Emma Mrowka.

Tamarac High School is part of the Brittonkill Central School District in Brunswick, New York and the Choralaires are the school’s flagship chorus. Students audition for their spots each year similar to professional choirs. Under Price’s direction, the Choralaires received ‘highest honors with distinction’ in choral festivals throughout the northeast, and the Before The Dawn program will feature solos performed by top-scoring 2025 NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) majors.

The Before The Dawn concert at Westminster Presbyterian is free to attend and open to the public. The building is accessible from the church parking lot located at 85 Chestnut Street, with additional street parking on State Street and adjacent Swan Street.
