When Carolyn Smith, Judy Hartley and Marie McClumpha left Westminster Presbyterian Church to take part in the John U. Miller Memorial CROP Hunger Walk on May 4, 2025 it was pouring. We walked in the rain last year, so we could do it again. We registered and turned in our recruiter packets and, after some entertainment, we were ready to leave St. Vincent de Paul Church on Madison Avenue and begin our walk in the rain – but the rain had stopped. The three daughters of John U. Miller lead the group down Madison Avenue. Cub Scouts and their parents were posted on the corners directing us whenever the route changed directions. At the end of the walk we enjoyed snacks and beverages with other walkers.
Thank you to all Westminster Presbyterian members, friends, and family for sponsoring us in the walk. We don’t yet know the total of how much money was given by our sponsors or how we ranked in comparison to the other groups who walked. We’ll be sure to let you know when the final information has been tallied–so stay tuned!
Good news – there is still time to support Westminster’s team and the work to end world hunger! Donations are being accepted through the end of May.
