Community Potluck and Discussion

Join us for a potluck and discussion as we explore current issues through faith. All are welcome.
Topic: Immigration, Sanctuary, and Discipleship at the Borders

Examining local immigration enforcement, community defense networks, and legal rights through the Gospel call to welcome the stranger and protect the vulnerable. We will reflect on how Christ calls us to build safe sanctuary spaces and walk in solidarity with our immigrant and refugee neighbors.

Community Potluck and Discussion

Gather around the table for shared food, deep fellowship, and faithful discernment. In October, November, and December, we come together for a community meal followed by an engaging presentation and dialogue with guest speakers working on the front lines of community care and advocacy. Together, we will examine pressing current events through the lens of our Christian faith, reflecting on Scripture and discerning how we, as disciples of Jesus Christ, are called to respond with compassion, courage, and solidarity.

Sharing the Table & Welcoming the Stranger:

We are especially delighted to share our table with members of Westminster’s Tuesday evening English Language class, taught by our neighbor Kim Vaugeois. Sharing a meal offers a practical, joyful opportunity to live out our biblical call to hospitality—creating a relaxed, supportive environment for language learners to practice conversational English, share stories, and build lasting friendships across cultures.

  • What to Bring: Please bring a favorite dish that is ready to serve.  Please label the dish as to contents: vegetarian, contains meat, gluten-free, nuts, etc.
  • What We Provide: Westminster will supply beverages, plates, bowls, utensils, and serving ware.
  • Who is Welcome: Everyone! Members, friends, neighbors, and newcomers alike.
