Play is good medicine for everything that ails us! Young people, old people, and everyone in between are invited to join us to play games, have fun, and turn a stranger into a friend. Hosted and led by the Westminster Commons Youth Corps, this all-ages event brings together folks from across our congregation, neighborhood, and local community.
- The Strategy Lounge (Welles Room | 4:00 PM – 5:40 PM): A quiet, dedicated space for chess, scrabble and other games running continuously all afternoon!
- The Action Floor (Fellowship Hall | 4:00 PM – 5:40 PM): Starts easy at 4:00 PM with table games, corn hole and ping pong. At 4:30 pm the room shifts to lively theater and improv games and then amps up with Pillo Polo led by the Commons Youth Corps starting at 5:00!
- The Prize Parlor (The Chapel | 4:45 PM – 5:40 PM): Head into the Chapel for joyful rounds of Bingo with fun prizes, hosted and called by members of our English Conversation Club!
- The Grand Finale (Fellowship Hall | 5:40 PM – 6:00 PM): Everyone from the Chapel, Welles Room, and main hall comes together in the center of the hall for one big, interactive game guaranteed to get the whole room laughing and connected before we say goodnight!
Snacks and drinks will be served throughout the afternoon to keep our energy up. Kids, adults, families, and neighbors are all welcome! FREE of charge.
About Westminster Commons: Hosted by the Westminster Presbyterian Church and led by a group of neighbors and friends, the Commons started in November 2022 with a cross-cultural Thanksgiving event. Since that time we’ve hosted over a dozen events featuring games or stories or art or dinner. Our goal is to help different people and groups in the Capital Region connect to create a sense of common purpose, address problems, and enjoy life more.
