We are delighted to welcome Chris Price as WPC’s Music Director. We wanted to take a moment to connect and learn a little more about him.
Before we get started, can you tell us a little about where you grew up, your siblings, your family, etc.?
I grew up in Beaumont, TX. Beaumont is about an hour southeast of Houston, TX and moved to the Capital Region in 2018. I am the youngest of 4 children. Three boys and one girl. My sister Toshia is the oldest and I also have 2 older brothers, Daryl and Joshua. My beautiful wife is Leah Scott-Price and we have 2 sons named Dominick (17) and Jacob (16). I grew up in the church. My father has been a pastor my whole life, even to this day and he introduced me into the choir, although my family doesn’t have many singers.
Will you share with us a little about your hobbies?
Some of my hobbies include watching sports and trying new foods. My favorite sports to watch are football and basketball, although I do enjoy watching anything competitive. I played basketball when I was younger. I still try to get out and play with my kids every once in a while, but Father Time will always win.
When it comes to food, I am not a chef by any stretch of the imagination. My favorite part of food is meeting others as you share a meal together. My favorite foods are prime rib, french fries, and BBQ crabs. I would love to get together sometime and share a meal.
What are you most looking forward to in your ministry with WPC?
I look forward to meeting people and hearing their stories. I also look forward to seeing what God is going to do with the music ministries. WPC has potential oozing out of the windows and God knows it. I also look forward to expanding the music at WPC alongside the individuals in the choir, the pastor, and the church community as a whole.
