Church School starts on Sunday, September 10 and we’re looking forward to welcoming our children and youth to another exciting year of learning, praying with and for each other, and having fun as well. We are looking forward to introducing the Whirl Classroom Sunday School curriculum in the Godly Play and We Believe classes. Whirl is a lectionary-based curriculum for grades K-6. One of the goals is to connect children to church life. Children learn about the church year and watch a video with animated characters who model what it’s like for children to go through the questions and challenges of living out their faith. It keeps scripture relatable and relevant. Whirl also has its own Bible storybook as well as leaflets that double as take-home pieces with different ways families can put their faith to action. It has learner leaflets for each child and a leader/teacher pack. It also has a wall chart that will help children identify themes and sections of the Bible. At the end of the year, each class will have a fun, visual record of what they’ve learned. More information at http://www.wearesparkhouse.com The Youth class will continue with the Faithfully Asking Questions curriculum taught on a series of themes from Presby Youth. Lessons are downloadable allowing teachers access to lessons from anywhere. http://www.presbyyouth.org We’ll also have our monthly Worship Plus for our Pre K through 5 children. This will be on the third Sunday of the month. We hope parents will ensure children will be in church school on a regular basis in order to benefit from these classes. We’d also like to thank our dedicated teachers, and encourage anyone who feels called, to join us in guiding our children on their faith journey. Belinda Quaye is part of the Ghana Mission Team 2016.
