January Theme: Best Year Ever
We start the year with this 4-lesson series from the Children’s Ministry Curriculum. This program invites children to explore what it means to walk with Jesus daily, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary spiritual journeys.
These lessons will excite children about what God has in store for the coming year. Despite the ups and downs, having Jesus by your side means you’re never alone in the ride. We can trust Him on this new year’s journey. With Jesus in your life, every day can matter: boring, awesome, bad, or not-so-great. Let’s learn how to make it the BEST YEAR EVER.
Week 1: No Worries
- Bible Story: “Do Not Worry” – Matthew 6:25-34
- Main Idea: God takes care of me, so I don’t need to worry. He’s always in control.
- Gospel Connection: Jesus reminds us not to trust our own strength but to trust in His loving care, securing our needs and eternal life through His sacrifice.
Week 2: Two Paths
- Bible Story: “The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked & Trust in the Lord” – Psalm 1:1-3 and Proverbs 3:5-6
- Main Idea: I can find a better life following God’s path.
- Gospel Connection: We can’t perfectly follow God’s path, but salvation comes not from our efforts but from Jesus’s perfect sacrifice for our sins.
Week 3: Fresh Starts
- Bible Story: “The Woman at the Well” – John 4:1-42
- Main Idea: By trusting in Jesus, I can get a fresh start.
- Gospel Connection: Jesus gave a woman at a well a new start. He offers a fresh start to anyone who will turn away from sin and trust in His promise of salvation.
Week 4: It’s a God Thing
- Bible Story: “The Vine and the Branches & The Peace of God” – John 15:4-5 and Philippians 4:6-7
- Main Idea: I can connect with Jesus daily to find real peace and become more like Him.
- Gospel Connection: Like branches to a vine, we find our strength in Jesus. Our friendship with God comes from his goodness, not what we deserve on our own.
Church School Schedule:
- First Sunday of the month we will meet in-person only
- All other Sundays we will meet online only
Curriculum:
We shall use the Children’s Ministry Curriculum, which is adaptable to all denominations and easy to use during in-person and online settings. Each month, we will have a new theme.
