Communion Sunday
This Sunday we welcome our guest preacher, Rev. Joe Paparone, from the New York State Poor People’s Campaign.
In the Gospels, there are a few things that make Jesus extremely angry: exploitation and people who justify exploitation with religion. In his time, this led Jesus to confront people who were working as money changers in the temple in Jerusalem. In our time, distorted moral narratives of religious nationalism are taking hold all over the world.
What will it take for us to confront these narratives and what will we replace them with?
This Sunday, our worship service will include Holy Communion, sustenance for our Lenten journey.
