A Night with Bread + Puppet

Bread and Puppet Theatre uses puppetry to critique authority, challenge norms, and promote social change.

Save the date!

Bread and Puppet is coming again this year. On Tuesday, April 2nd, you’ll see their hand painted school bus parked in front of our church on State Street.

“A Collapse & Circus of Western Hypocrisy Civilization” begins at 7:00 pm.
The imminent end of the capitalist empire, colonizing and genociding as the whole world looks on in horror, attacked by a flock of cranes migrating from Palestine fill the White House with genuine bird droppings. Frogs, caribou, dancing bears, and bicycling chickens make up the rest of the cast.

There are no tickets for this performance but a donation of $10-$25 is requested at the door. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Last year around 300 enthusiastic people enjoyed the show at Westminster.

Approximately 300 people came to enjoy the Bread + Puppet performance at Westminster Presbyterian Church in 2023.

Formed by sculptor Peter Schumann in New York City in the early 1960’s, Bread and Puppet has become legendary for its parade-sized puppets. These puppets often appear at peace demonstrations, Earth Day celebrations, and pop-up street theater performances.
