We are looking forward to welcoming our neighbors and friends from the FOCUS Churches to join us for a special combined worship service this coming Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 10:00 am. Our church is located at 85 Chestnut St, between Dove and Swan Streets, in the heart of Center Square.
The theme for our service comes from our reading from the Song of Solomon 2:8-13, “The Time for Singing Has Come”. We will be singing throughout the service–in praise, in prayer, and as we come together at the Lord’s table. Westminster’s Music Director, Christopher Price, has invited all of our singers to come and join in with a choral anthem–arrive at 9:00 am to join in the rehearsal. Charles Tsui, the new Music Director at Trinity United Methodist, will play our postlude.
FOCUS Executive Director Fred Boehrer has recently announced that he is leaving FOCUS to join the faculty of the Albany School of Pharmacy. Fred Boehrer will be co-officiating our communion service this Sunday and giving a benediction. We’ll have some words of thanks and appreciation for Fred and a special reception afterward.

Please join us for this special service! Westminster has a parking lot next to the church–enter at 85 Chestnut Street–and there is also free parking on the street.
For more than 50 years, the six covenant churches of the FOCUS Churches of Albany have come together for worship three times during the summer. We take turns hosting the service, each featuring the music, liturgy, and preaching of that particular congregation. These services build our sense of community with each other, strengthening our ability to “do together what we cannot do separately” as our mission statement proclaims.
