Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Albany, NY. Worship is in-person and online with Zoom. Please join us, all are welcome.

Guest Preacher: Paul Stewart, Underground Railroad Education Center of Albany

We welcome Paul Stewart to our pulpit for a special Black History Month sermon. Paul has had a long history of working in Albany’s community. He is retired after working 22 years with the Community Loan Fund as a lending officer and small business trainer.

For the last 24 years, Paul and his wife, Mary Liz, have worked on a community project researching the local and international Underground Railroad history of the Capital Region. Paul and Mary Liz have been given numerous awards for this work including the Harriet Tubman Titan Award from Israel AME Church and the Partners In Education Award from the NYS Council on Social Studies.

Paul’s educational background includes two years of study at the University of Chicago Divinity School. His historical and theological reflections come together this week as he shares his reflections on the church’s role in abolitionist movements in history and today.
