The Mama Alice Health Clinic in rural Nyitawuta, Ghana, has opened, and much-needed medical care is being provided to residents in this area where no services had previously been available. This opening signifies a collaborative endeavor between the Home of Care and Protection (HOCAP) and Westminster, aiming to provide vital healthcare services to underserved areas. The establishment of the Mama Alice Health Clinic showcases a shared commitment to accessible healthcare solutions to underserved and remote populations.

Medical Supplies Collection
In early October, a team from Westminster Presbyterian Church will be traveling to attend the Ghana Mission Network Meeting in Tema, Ghana. The team will also have the opportunity to meet with our three mission partner groups in Ghana. We are excited and pleased to announce that our team will travel to visit the Mama Alice Health Clinic. In fact, an official grand opening celebration will be held during this visit.
The Clinic is always in need of equipment and supplies, so we will collect certain requested items for the team to carry with them and deliver during their trip. Some larger medical equipment items will also be purchased and shipped.
Join us in supporting the Mama Alice Health Clinic by donating essential medical supplies. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of those in rural Ghana. Please consider donating some of the items from our list below. There are several ways you can participate and help:
- Amazon Wish List: Items from this list can be purchased and will be shipped directly to us for delivery in Ghana
- Donations can be dropped off at Westminster (85 Chestnut St. – Albany, NY) – a collection bin is available in the Chestnut St. hallway.
- Bring your donation to our African Family Night fundraising event on Saturday, September 21st!
Requested Medical Supplies:
- Disposable medical gloves
- Masks
- Single bed sheets
- White hand towels
- White bath towels
- Scissors
- Cotton blankets
- Gauze pads and rolled gauze—any size
- Paper or bandage tape
- Red, black, and blue pens
- Triple antibiotic ointment
- Bacitracin
- Ibuprofen: 200 mg tablets or caplets
- Acetaminophen (Tylenol): 325 mg, Infant Tylenol drops, or Pediatric Tylenol
